Over the past six days, we've been down in Hastings for a really nice relaxing break by the sea. We headed down there on Thursday, and checked into the apartment which was on the seafront overlooking the pier, the beach and the sea, which was perfect. The house also had a small Hobbit house at the back, and was the main attraction for Ellen! After unpacking and a quick visit out to the Hobbit house, we headed down to the beach for a leisurely stroll along the seafront before heading back to the house for dinner and the evening.

On Friday we took a walk onto the pier, along the seafront again and down to the beach, as well as a good bit of time around the house and in the Hobbit house too. That afternoon we decided to go watch and listen to some live music at the end of pier - we were probably a bit late to arrive, but still managed to catch the end of it.

On Saturday we caught the small miniature railway train out to Hastings Old Town and spent a bit of the morning out there as well as some time on the playground too. After getting the train back, we stopped in at Tommy's Bar & Q at The Source Park for lunch - delicious low and slow cooked BBQ meats :) That evening we headed back down to the pier for some more live music.

On Sunday and Monday we spent it around the house, down at the beach including a couple of swims, a visit to Goat Ledge cafe for lunch, caught the train again out to Hastings Old Town again and some good time spent out in the Hobbit house too :)

Yesterday, after a visit to the beach in the morning, we checked out the apartment and made our way back home, arriving back mid afternoon, after a really nice and relaxing time away!
