Once again, we're at the end of another month of lockdown here, over four months now into it and everyone's just accepted it as the new norm (for now). Quite a few of the restrictions have lifted in some places, but life's definitely not back to normal by any means. Even though Ellen's now back at nursery 3 days a week, Una and I still working from home full time, which seems to be the way it's going to stay for some time for at least the foreseeable future.
This month has been fairly similar to other months, with us keeping fairly local for the most part, and plenty of time in the garden, enjoying the summer as best we can. We alternated between Peckham Rye Park, St Mary's Frobisher Park and Nunhead Cemetery, which even though they're all just in the area, it's good to mix things up a bit, as much as we can... all things considered. On another weekend we decided to pop out to Crystal Palace Park for a bit of a wander around there.
On another weekend we met up with Greg, Kim and the boys in Wimbledon Park for a few hours which was great for Ellen and the boys to see each other again, and at least this time it wasn't nearly as windy as the last time we met up with them. Managed to even have a picnic which was more than we could do last month when we met.
Other than that, had a few braais at home and plenty of time with Ellen in the garden and in and around the house, as well as a rainy afternoon in the log cabin watching a Coldplay festival video which was fun watching her dance and move to the music.
We're actually off tomorrow to go Glamping in Worcestershire, our first weekend away since March. It's called Up Sticks Glamping and it's at the foot of the Malvern Hills and looks really nice and rustic, and away from people too which is good. The joys of Covid - after months of isolation, we're planning our first trip away to be an isolating camping weekend away :) But really looking forward to a few days away and a nice break to just chill out, a few walks, a hothub and some braais and campfires...
