Last weekend wasn't a very busy weekend, just kept fairly local with a visit to St Mary's Frobisher Park on Saturday morning followed by a coffee and cake in the afternoon at the Blackbird Bakery. The rest of the afternoon was just at home with the Six Nations on TV, a firm favourite of Ellen's :) Sunday was a similar day with more rugby on TV and the remainder of the day around the house.

Then this past week has been quite hectic at home with work being done both inside the house and outside in the garden. Starting off on Wednesday we had the Tree Services crowd around to cut down and trim the sycamore trees in the back garden, which should hopefully open it up a bit and bring in some more light in the summer.

On Friday we had Kitchen Removals crowd around to rip out the old kitchen and take it away, all ready for the new one to be installed tomorrow. While they were busy ripping everything out, IKEA pitched up with the new kitchen delivery, so that was fun trying to coordinate the incoming delivery with the outgoing appliances! But we managed :)

With no kitchen in the house, we had no choice but to head out yesterday and keep busy, starting off with Morrisons in the morning and then Nando's for lunch. We had hoped to be out for the afternoon, but with Storm Dennis overhead we landed up staying in and trying to keep Ellen busy with a house full of boxes and packaging. With the storm still gusting outside today, and not being all that relaxing at home, we decided instead to head out to Surrey Quays Shopping Mall for a walk around there and grab a couple of things from The Range. After getting what we needed, we dashed over to Frankie & Benny's in the pouring rain for a bit of lunch there before heading home for the afternoon.

We've got Ben coming around tomorrow morning to start on the kitchen installation, and he's estimated it'll take 4-5 days so looking forward to having the kitchen ready to use by the end of the week :)
