The past week we've spent over in Ireland, having flown out last week Saturday. We drove up to Stansted, parked the car there, flew into Cork, picked up the rental car and then drove over to Claire and Michael's place. We spent the afternoon at their place and later that evening, Uns and Claire headed to a play in town while Mike and I stayed in catching up over a few beers. On the Sunday morning we all headed out to the Leisure Centre at Rochestown Park Hotel for some swimming in the pool there, which was thoroughly enjoyable. I'd never really taken Ellen properly swimming before, so that was good fun.
After sometime in the pool, we headed back to Claire and Michael's to pack up and then drive down west. We had a bit of the afternoon there and decided to head down to Baltimore that evening for pizza at La Jolie Brise. Then from Monday through to Thursday I had booked in to work at Ludgate which was super handy, and still had enough time (and daylight) to go for a spin in the evenings and even down to Baltimore (again) on the Wednesday for pizza.
I had booked the Friday off anyway, so after popping up to Anthony and Lui for a visit, we drove over to Kerry and dropped Uns at Parknasilla who had booked in there with the girls for a nice weekend break. Once she had checked into the villa, Ellen and myself headed back to Kenmare to Tony and Teresa's place where we were staying for the weekend. That afternoon we just chilled out around the house, with Ellen loving the chickens and the horse on the farm :)
Saturday morning was exceptionally rainy, so Ellen, Teresa and I headed over to Parknasilla to meet up with Uns for a morning swim and some brunch. Afterwards, we left Uns to enjoy her weekend with the girls, while Tessa, Ellen and myself took a scenic drive back to Kenmare over Ellen's nap. That afternoon we spent around their place, as well as a walk down to the beach and sea which was just a few minutes away.
Yesterday around midday, once Uns had been dropped off at Tony and Teresa's, we drove over to Cork and popped into see Michael and the boys (Claire had flown out to Australia so wasn't there). After a little while at theirs, we made our way to the airport in time for our flight back to London.
