Last week, on Friday after work I made my way through to Peckham Rye and met up with Uns and Ellen. We thought we'd try Well Street Pizza which is adjacent to the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and with it having outside seating, we thought it would be rather relaxing. Except missy had her own ideas and all she wanted to do was walk back and forward through the automatic doors to the drama school :) So that certainly kept Uns and I busy walking her in and out!
On the Saturday, after a morning around the house and a quick visit to Flock & Herd butchers, the three of us headed into town once Ellen was awake after her nap. We had tickets to the BBC Proms in the Park, which is held on the Last Night of the Proms, with multiple events around the country, including Belfast, Glasgow and Swansea as well as in London at the Royal Albert Hall and Hyde Park. Proms in the Park is Britain's largest outdoor classical music event and offers a rousing alternative finale to two months of the BBC Proms, hosted by Michael Ball and always very well attended. We got through there around mid afternoon, and after setting up our picnic area, alternated between chilling out to the music and missioning around with Ellen who was in great form and loving the music, and the attention :) The legendary Barry Manilow headlined this year's concert, and other artists included American singer-songwriter and founding member of The Pretenders Chrissie Hynde, English-Italian singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti, iconic East London-born RnB and soul singer Gabrielle and star operatic soprano Aida Garifullina.
Then on the Sunday we stayed fairly local, as well as a visit up to Nunhead Cemetery for Ellen to have a bit of an explore in the woods and give pooch a decent run around. That evening, I fired up the braai for a steak dinner for myself and Uns.
This past Saturday, after spending the morning at Greenwich IKEA looking at kitchen designs and the afternoon at home, Shazell came round to babysit for us while Uns and I had booked dinner at Peppeckish which is an Italian pop-up, currently serving at The Hill Station cafe near Telegraph Hill which serves dinners on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, with the menus changing each week. Since the weather was nice and mild, we managed to sit and eat outside which is always lucky for September, then after dinner walked over to Skehans for a couple of drinks and some live music there.
Yesterday was a nice and chilled day at home and in the log cabin, with missy as busy as ever around the house :)
