On Saturday late morning we headed down to Greg and Kim and the boys for lunch and a catch up, and to fetch Mia who had been down there since the previous Friday. We'd not yet been down there with Ellen, thought it was probably a bit too far to drive with her up until now, but she's definitely much better in the car these days, which made for a fairly easy drive down. The weather was nice and sunny too, so we all managed to sit outside and enjoy our braai for lunch. Later on that afternoon was the SA vs England rugby match which we stayed to watch, and luckily SA won by 42 points to 39, so a rather close and high scoring game. The drive back wasn't too bad either, once we managed to drown out poochy's whinging :)
On Sunday we had invited Tom, Anna and little Scarlett around to ours for lunch, so first thing that morning Uns and I took a walk with Ellen into Peckham to grab a few things from there for the afternoon. With the weather still being nice and sunny, we managed to braai and sit outside for the afternoon, and good to catch up with them again.
On Monday evening after getting home from work, Uns suggested dinner up at Chai's Thai Restaurant since it was a nice and warm evening, but after walking up there, it turned out they were closed on Mondays, so we turned around and decided to try the revamped Montague Arms which had re-opened about a month ago. They were just doing finger food and snacks, so had ourselves a drink and a bite to eat there before heading home.
On Wednesday at lunch time, Uns and Ellen came through to Farringdon and we decided on Byron Burger for lunch, which was a nice way to spend my lunch break :) Then on Thursday after work, I walked down to St. Paul's and met up with Tom at Zelman Meats, first for a beer then later for a steak dinner once Duncs joined us. As always, excellent steak dinner and good catch up with those guys.
Still loving the warm sunny evenings at the moment, and we're all hoping for a few more decent months of summer, with plenty more braais and dinners up at Chai's Thai... just not on a Monday evening :)
