This past weekend we had booked a trip over to Cork for a few days, our first flight with little Ellen. But before that, on Friday evening, after getting home from work, I headed down to Walton with Mia and met up with Greg at the station to hand over poochy. They had offered to look after her while we were away, so after a quick catch up with Greg at the station, he took Mia and I headed back home to finish the last of my packing.

On Saturday morning Uns, myself and Ellen made our way over to Stansted for our flight out to Cork, during which she was exceptionally good, only slightly bothered during the last bit of the descent and landing which is understandable. Once at Cork Airport, we picked up our car and drove down west and met up with the Boss as well as Claire, Michael and the boys who were already down there. We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening at home with them, just relaxing and chilling out.

The weather on Sunday was amazing, so decided to borrow Anthony's homemade keg BBQ and have ourselves a braai for lunch and enjoy a bit of the warm afternoon sun. Later on, myself, Michael, Jack and Dara headed over to Knockdrum Fort for a little while, followed by a quick trip into town for ice-creams and then back home again. That evening, myself and Uns had reserved a table at Glandore Bistro for dinner, while Claire and Michael offered to babysit Ellen. I'd not been to Glandore Bistro before, Uns had previously been there, so once Ellen was down for the night, we headed off to Glandore and enjoyed a nice tasty dinner for ourselves :)

On Monday morning, we popped up to Anthony and Lui for a visit and some coffee and cake, and then that afternoon Uns was out at Margaret's place for lunch and a catch up with the girls. That afternoon, after Claire and Michael had left to go back up to Cork, we went for a spin around the coast, followed by a couple of 99s and then soaked up a bit of the warm afternoon sun for the rest of the day. That evening was just spent at home, with some pizza takeaway from Skibb and a couple of homemade Aperol Spritzes for ourselves :)

After yesterday morning just at home, we decided to have another braai for lunch before our drive back up to Cork Airport. Once we'd dropped the car, Claire and Jack came through to say bye and see us off. Ellen managed the return flight brilliantly, by sleeping and feeding all the way through it :) Once at Stansted Airport, we grabbed a quick bite to eat there and headed on home.

At least today's nice and sunny and it's only a three day week before the weekend, so not too bad indeed!
