Over the past few days, the UK has been battling the worst of the weather, caused by icy Siberian winds and heavy snow, with the storm being named "The Beast From The East". It started early in the week with the cold and some snow, and got worse as the week went on.

On Wednesday morning we woke up to a thick blanket of snow outside. Since Uns and I had a lunch time appointment at Kings, I decided to work from home which was handy, especially with the blizzard outside and it being rather tricky to get around.

Thursday landed up being ridiculously cold, with snow still falling and the icy winds still around. According to the Met Office, the outside "feels like" temperature dropped to -10°C during the day, certainly the coldest I remember London being for many years!

Yesterday it was still snowing and blizzard like winds, and unfortunately Claire and Jack had their flights cancelled, as they were meant to spend the weekend over in London. Hopefully they'll be able to postpone their trip to sometime later in the year. After leaving work a few hours earlier yesterday, it took me just on 2.5hrs to get home with all the delays and cancellations to public transport - so as picturesque and attractive as the snow was on Wednesday morning, by yesterday I was totally over it! :)

It seems today that "The Beast" has moved on and the snow seems to be melting a bit, so hopefully a bit easier to get around again. Not too much planned for the weekend now, originally we had a few ideas with Claire and Jack meant to be over, but obviously those are on hold for now, so we'll see what the rest of the weekend brings.
