On Wednesday last week we had our work Christmas party, starting off with a few drinks and general company updates in the office, after which we then headed to Taberna Etrusca restaurant for lunch and for the rest of the afternoon. After a fairly boozy afternoon there, we then continued on at Ye Olde Watling pub for the rest of the evening until I decided to call it a night, after a long afternoon of being out!
Then after a fairly slow day in the office on Thursday, I headed out that evening down to Brixton for the Gogol Bordello gig at the O2 Academy. I first met up with Will, Aggie and Duncs in Brixton Village for a bite to eat at Honest Burgers, before making our way over to the Academy. The opening band were Lucky Chops which we managed to see the end of, followed by Gogol Bordello who put on a good and lively show. I was still feeling rather knackered after Wednesday, so didn't stay right until the very end, but still enjoyed most of the gig!
On Friday evening, Uns and I had a quiet evening at home, and since she was flying out to Ireland on Saturday morning, we decided to exchange Christmas gifts that evening, and she got me a biltong box which I certainly wasn't expecting, so you can imagine my excitement at wanting to try make my first batch at home :)
On Saturday morning, after Uns left to head off to the airport, I had a fairly quiet day around the house, and with the weather outside rather miserable and rainy, I certainly wasn't too keen to head out anywhere. And yesterday was again a similarly miserable day outside, so another chilled day around the house. There was a slight break in the rain in the early afternoon, so managed a walk with Mia up to Telegraph Hill Park, but other than that it was mostly an indoors weekend.
The plan for the rest of this week is just to sort a few things out around the house, then fly out to Ireland on Friday evening. I've taken Friday off work, so just under four days of work left this year :)
