Last week Thursday, after stopping in at Kitchen 54 for dinner (always a favourite of ours), we then headed home to chill out in the garden for the evening, relaxing on the outside sofa and soaking up some of that warm evening sun. The heat wave from last week is still around and apparently it's meant to stay warm into next week too which is excellent!

On Friday after work I made my way out to Stratford to the Queen Elizabeth Park, met up with Gav, Jane and Ben and all headed into the London Stadium for Guns 'n Roses - their first UK gig on their 'Not In This Lifetime' world tour. We weren't too bothered about the opening acts, so sat out in the sun until Uns arrived and it was time for the band to start. We landed up meeting Duncs and his crowd who were standing just behind us, so was a good group of us for the night. As expected, the band played all their greatest hits, plus a good few covers and tribute songs too, playing for just over two and a half hours which was super impressive!

On Saturday morning, Uns was up early and out the door for her flight to Cork for a few days back there. I spent the first half of the day relaxing outside in the sun until the afternoon, when I headed over to Putney to join Matt and Fish's joint birthday pub golf crawl. I started off at the Arab Boy, and afterwards myself and Duncs stopped in at the Fox and Hound to watch SA beat France in the rugby, along with Will and Aggie who met us there. After the rugby we joined the rest of the group again at the Spotted Horse, followed by the Rocket, the Boathouse, the Queen Adelaide and finally the Cat's Back. Was a good day out, especially with the warm weather and cold beers throughout :)

On Sunday, Greg and Kim had booked lunch at the Lords Tavern pub for the five of us, so around midday I headed up to St John's Wood and first met them at Abbey Road to get a photo of them crossing the famous zebra crossing. Always so funny to watch people trying to coordinate their walk across the road with the oncoming traffic and the person taking their photo. After that, we walked down towards the cricket ground and settled in for lunch at Lords Tavern - a cricket themed pub, where the final of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy between Pakistan and India at the Oval was being shown on the TVs.

After lunch there, we caught a bus down to Oxford Street and walked over to Selfridges for Kim to have a look around. She'd been watching a show about Selfridge's on TV and wanted to have a look inside, and was actually quite nice to get out the heat and into some air-conditioning for a bit.

Then from Oxford Street we got the tube down to Waterloo where they left to head back home and I continued on back to Peckham and spent the afternoon chilling out and snoozing outside, soaking up that warm evening sun.

Both yesterday and today have been insanely hot, but at least not too humid so still nice to sit outside for lunch and again in the evening. Apparently it's meant to cool down towards the end of the week, but for now we're all making the most of this weather while it lasts :)
