Last week, on Wednesday evening after work, Uns and I decided to head out to Croydon for an Ikea shop for a few household necessities. It's been a good few years since I was last at Ikea, probably when I'd just moved over to the UK, so was certainly time for another visit there. We had a shortlist of things we wanted from there and turned turned into a successful few hours, picking up a good bit for the house and then a taxi back home to avoid having to carry it all on the train.

On Friday after work I met up with Tom at Las Iguanas in Spitalfields Market for a couple of catch up beers and to bounce some ideas off him for things at work. We stayed on at Las Iguanas for a while before deciding to grab a bite to eat at Bleecker Burger in Spitalfields Market. We ordered the Bleecker Black, which was amazing - one of the best burgers I've ever had I reckon. After a bite to eat, Tom headed away home and I made my way into town to meet up with Will, Duncs, Mr Shit and Ross, who was over from SA with his wife Yolanda. I aimed for Eat Tokyo in Covent Garden which turned out to be the wrong one, so I then missioned over to Soho and tried that branch next and found them there. I blame Will for his (lack of) directions. They had just finished dinner when I arrived which was good timing, and from there we made our way over to The Glasshouse Stores pub for the rest of the evening until when we all called it a night and headed home.

On Saturday it was a day of DIY and work around the house, as well as a trip through to Borough Market to get some supplies for Sunday, when we had Gav and Jane around for the afternoon. It had been a while since we'd last seen them, we did try organise a couple of times last year, but in between the log cabin and other plans, it never happened. But good to see them again and catch up for the afternoon.

Yesterday after work, Uns and myself met up at Charing Cross, got ourselves a burger from Five Guys and then headed over to The Duchess Theatre just off The Strand. We had bought tickets to Michael McIntyre's "Work in Progress" show which was part of his series of tour preparation gigs to test out his new material before he goes on his big national tour, sometime in the near future I guess.

We were there a couple of hours in total, and was a good laugh - I like seeing the "behind the scenes" of stand up comedy. It's usually only the final tour show that everyone gets to see, so these shows are fairly unrehearsed and unscripted which I quite like. But a good fun night of comedy!
