After arriving back last week Monday evening, it was straight back into the working week from Tuesday, but at least it was only a four day week to start off which helped. With Earn having finished up at the end of last year, I started back at the AwayQui offices on a contract basis, so we'll see how that goes for now. dco
On Wednesday afternoon, Megan flew over from Ireland for a couple of days in London before they headed back to Australia. She was staying with us for those two days, so Wednesday evening we thought we'd go to Kitchen 54 for dinner but unexpectedly they were closed, as was Mamma Dough. So as a fallback option, we decided to stay in and order MEATliquor online for delivery. Not quite as good as eating there, but our options were rather limited as the evening was getting later. Then Thursday night we were better organised and after meeting up in town, we started off with a cocktail at the American Bar in The Savoy, then moved over to Zelman Meats where we met Megan's friend Nicole and had dinner there. After a good decent steak feast (always love Zelman's), we called it a night and headed home.

On Friday after work I met up with Uns at Stratford which was just insane, between the usual busy Friday night crowd at Westfield and the West Ham vs Man City game, the place was mental. Not my idea of fun on a Friday night! But we managed to get a good bit of shopping done and things we wanted to, then grabbed ourselves a Nandos and finally headed home. Then we were up fairly early on Saturday morning and over to Dulwich to check out the European Wildlife Photographer of the Year display at the Horniman Museum. After the museum and a walk around their gardens, we headed back into Peckham, stopped in at Old Spike Roastery for a coffee, grabbed a few things from the high street and then finally home, after which we spent a good bit of the evening chilling out in the log cabin in front of the (electric) fireplace.

To finish off a fairly busy first week into the new year, we had invited Greg, Kim and the boys up to our place yesterday for a belated Christmas lunch. We'd not properly caught up with them before they left for SA, so yesterday was our festive meal and catch up. After the excitement of the presents for the boys, we had lunch and then popped over to the park on Pomeroy Street for a little while before they headed off back home.

The rest of the evening was just rather quiet and relaxing in front of the TV catching up on a few shows and programmes we'd missed over the past couple of weeks, before a full week of work coming up...
