On Friday afternoon, Claire and Jack arrived in from Cork for a few days in London. It was just the two of them, Michael and Dara stayed at home while Claire brought Jack over to see the sights (playgrounds) of London. Una had the afternoon off work to meet up with them at Gatwick while I headed home after work to meet up with them there. I had opted to stay in that night and babysit, especially after my Christmas party on the Tuesday, I was more than OK with not going out :) After Jack had gone down for the night, Uns and Claire headed out - first for dinner at the Tate Modern and then a drink at The Shard.

On Saturday we started off fairly early with breakfast at the Blackbird Bakery and then off to South Ken to the Natural History Museum to check out the dinosaurs and the animals. Always a great museum to take kids to - plenty of excitement and things to see and do there. After a few hours there we made our way home and spent a good bit of the afternoon in the log cabin with Jack playing with his new toys and presents. That evening Uns and Claire had dinner booked in at Pedler in Peckham, so after Jack had gone down they headed out there for the night.

Yesterday morning, after a slowish start to get ready, we headed off to Mudchute Farm for a stroll around there and see the animals, followed by brunch in the cafe there. After the morning at Mudchute we then made our way over to Greenwich, where I had to grab a few things from there while Uns, Claire and Jack decided to catch the boat to London Bridge and home. After getting back to the house, I realised they had my house keys so decided to stop in at the Montague Arms for a cheeky pint while I waited for them. Once back at the house we all chilled out in the log cabin and later on Uns and Claire headed into town to see the Christmas Lights and grab some dinner.

While I headed off to work this morning, Una had the day off today to spend with Claire and Jack before heading through to the airport this afternoon to see them off at Gatwick. Think they had a good time while they were over, especially with a free babysitter the good weather and plenty for Jack to see and do around here :)
