On Friday evening I met up with Uns in Peckham to grab a few things from the high street and then we decided on Kitchen 54 for dinner - always a winner with us :) Then Saturday we were fairly busy around the house, doing some work inside as well as on the log cabin, and eventually got around to removing the wood boxing surrounding the concrete base. Looks so much better now without that as well as having cleaned up the garden a bit. After a rather active day around the house on Saturday, that evening was fairly quiet and chilled out at home.

Yesterday we had organised to meet up with Greg and Kim and the boys and head into town to see the Southbank Christmas markets and Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. After I met up with them at Waterloo, we took a walk around the markets where Ethan spotted the bright orange social benches which suddenly became his new favourite thing in London :)

Eventually we managed to leave the Southbank and head up to Leicester Square where we thought we'd attempt the newly opened Lego store but gave up after noticing the queue. During all of this, Ethan kept asking about the orange benches and if they were anywhere nearby :) So instead of the Lego store we visited the Nickelodeon store and then grabbed lunch at Pizza Hut just off the square.

From Leicester Square we caught the tube across to Knightsbridge to first visit Harrods and then check out Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. After a bit of walking around Winter Wonderland the boys started getting tired and we decided to head back to Waterloo and they continued on home.

Yesterday we had our EarnspacerAway Christmas lunch which we'd planned to have at Hills & Szrok just off the Old Street roundabout. After a decent feed there we moved on over to the Draft House for a few and then to Happiness Forgets where JJ and I stayed for the rest of the night, enjoying a continuous stream of Old Fashioneds until eventually heading home.

As a famous quote goes: "When you drink alcohol you are just borrowing happiness from tomorrow" .... which couldn't be more correct. As good as yesterday and last night were, today's been the exact opposite :( But all self induced, no one else to blame, and landed up getting into the office by about lunch time or so today. Definitely going to be a quiet evening tonight, and try start fresh again tomorrow :)
