On Wednesday, a week and a half ago, Uns and I decided to use our Love London cards and head up to the Shard viewing deck, so after work we both met up at London Bridge, and only when we both got there did we notice that they were closed for a private event that night :( So we decided against going out around London Bridge and instead headed back to Peckham and grabbed dinner at Kitchen 54, always a favourite!

After a quiet couple of nights at home, we thought on Saturday morning we'd head into Peckham Rye towards Nunhead for a walk and a coffee and came across The Habit in Nunhead which looked like it had only recently just opened. So we stopped in there for a breakfast and coffee which was a good start to the day. The rest of the Saturday we spent working on the log cabin - finishing the floor and other bits and pieces as well as varnishing the outside of it. Once done with that, we had ourselves a braai and then later on headed up to Skehans for a couple of pints and some live music.

On Sunday it was more work outside, getting electricity run into the storage area of the log cabin and putting the outdoor lights up around the roofing, which still needs to be done properly, but at least it's a start for now. Hopefully we'll finish the rest of the concrete base within the next couple of weekends and then we're basically done with the outside of the log cabin, just need to finish up the inside and get it furnished which is the next job on the list!

On Wednesday just gone by, Uns and I went to the cinema, my first trip to the Peckhamplex, to go watch Deepwater Horizon, which is about the drilling rig that exploded in the Gulf of Mexico and killed several crew members. It was ages since we'd last been to the cinema, and worth going to see that, even if there was no one other than me in the cinema at first!

This past weekend we managed to get the kitchen painted and do some more work outside on the log cabin to get the outdoor lights and floor sorted. Then yesterday we decided to head past Old Kent Road to browse some sofas at DFS and landed up choosing one for the log cabin and purchasing it which was a bonus, followed by a trip to Argos and picking out an electric fireplace - so two birds with one stone in an afternoon! Hopefully we can get it all sorted and furnished before Christmas time, which will be nice!
