Last Tuesday, since the weather was so good, it seemed only right to head up to Telegraph Hill for a few hours to soak up the evening sun and watch the sunset from there. So once home from work, Uns and I packed a picnic blanket and set off up the hill for the evening, until Uns got too chilly the sun had set and we decided to head back home.
Last Thursday evening Uns and I met up out at Westfield in Stratford for a bit of last minute holiday shopping for a few things we still needed for our week in Portugal. Then Friday after work I stopped in at The Bookclub for a quick drink with the work guys and from there made my way down towards Vauxhall. Mr Shit had organised a breakfast club dinner at The Yard for the Django Bango Gold Rush night - a wild west dinner pop-up evening. We all met up beforehand at the Royal Oak pub and then moved over to The Yard which was just around the corner. The night itself was really good fun with about 18 of us there for dinner, with a few at our table (not me unfortunately) striking gold. After dinner, Uns and I stopped in at the Royal Oak again for a quick nightcap before making our way home.
Saturday was the first rainy day we've had in ages and so we landed up having a very lazy, indoors day at home which is well needed every now and then. Then on Sunday we started off with a Skottel fry up for breakfast, chilled at home during the day and later on, took a walk into town and along the southbank for a stroll. It was also the 350 year anniversary of the great fire of London, and part of the anniversary event was a huge sculpture of the city of London built on a barge in the Thames which was going to be lit on fire and burnt down that evening. We decided against waiting around for that and instead took a quick trip up to the top of the newly built part of the Tate Modern for a view over the Thames and the city, and then headed home to switch on the TV and watch the sculpture burning from the comfort of our couch.
It's been a nice short two day week this week, and once home later this evening we just need to finish the last of our holiday packing before our early start tomorrow morning off to Gatwick and then out to Albufeira, Portugal for a week of relaxing, sun, sea and the beach :)
