This past weekend was the August bank holiday weekend, with us having had the day off yesterday. And since last week Friday was forecasted to be a nice, hot sunny day, Uns and I figured we'd take the day off and head down to the New Forest and get in the extra day's sun. We got down there around lunch time, set up camp and spent the afternoon lying around and soaking up some of the late August sun. That evening, after our braai for dinner, we headed up to the New Forest Inn pub for a beer and a bit of live music.

On Saturday Greg, Kim and the boys came down and joined us for the day. They got in mid morning and after a bit of lunch, we took a stroll into the forest, played on "tree mountain" and then up to the pub and the soft play which they loved and kept them busy for the afternoon. They left to head back home around mid afternoon and that evening, after our braai, we just stayed local and chilled out at the campsite, listening to the music from the pub in the distance.

We were woken up on Sunday morning to a rainy, grey and dull day outside. Instead of walking down to the shops we decided to hop on a bus to Lyndhurst for the afternoon. After a bit of a walk around and a visit to the camping shop, we went for lunch at The Forage, a busy little deli and eatery. The rest of the afternoon was relaxing enough walking around Lyndhurst, and before catching the bus back, we headed up the hill to Bolton's Bench and sat there watching a game of cricket in the distance.

Yesterday was another nice sunny day which was good to allow us to pull down camp in the dry weather, but also made us lazy and wanting to lie about in the sun. After packing up the tent and the bags, we soaked up some of the sun, then over to the pub for a bit of lunch and then caught the train back home. On arriving back home we were welcomed and kept entertained by the likes of Mia and Mr Tips (from a few houses down) which was a good laugh for a Monday evening :)

This week is meant to be nice and sunny again, then it's the weekend and then only two days of work next week before we're off to Portugal for a nice relaxing holiday out there... can't wait :)
