On Friday morning the folks arrived over here, met by Greg and Ethan at Heathrow Airport and then all headed back to their place afterwards. I had initially thought I'd go down after work on Friday and see them, but decided instead to make a full day of it on Saturday. I did, however, have to pop past the doctor's on Friday morning to get my hand/wrist seen to, and turned out it's a minor case of carpal tunnel syndrome, most likely from all the work we've been doing on the log cabin. And I thought my recent purchase of the "lady hammer" would've avoided this :) Hopefully I only need to wear the arm brace for a week or so and it'll sort itself out!

Then early on Saturday morning I got the train down to Walton-on-Thames and good to see the folks and to welcome them over! After a while at their house we all headed over to The Heart Shopping Centre and took a stroll through the farmers market they have set up there once a month. After the market we made our way to the park for a picnic lunch, and then down to the river later on for a stroll, along the riverside walk, over to The Swan pub for a nice cold sundowner.

The plan for yesterday was a braai at our place, with the whole family as well as Tom, Anna, Scarlet and Faith. So yesterday morning I headed up to Vauxhall Station to meet mom, dad, Greg, Kim and the boys and get them back to ours on the bus. Once home, Greg and Kim headed out into town to do a bit of shopping there, while myself and the folks took the boys to the park down the road for them to run around a bit. Later on we were joined by Tom, Anna, Scarlet and Faith for the rest of the afternoon. It would've been at least 12 or 15 years since the folks last saw Faith so good for them to catch up as well.

After dinner, Greg, Kim and the boys left to get back down home while Tom and co. stayed on a bit later until they all had to make tracks home. Was a good afternoon having everyone over and good to catch up again!
