Last Thursday evening after work myself and Uns headed down to Brockwell Lido to watch a screening of Jaws at the outdoor cinema there. We didn't have the premium tickets which were in the inflatable boats, but did manage to get a front row position right by the pool. I thought I'd have had a few memories of the movie from years ago, but realised as it went on that I remember nothing of the movie except for the music, but was good to watch it again, and to update the memory again :) On Friday evening we had tickets to see the comedian, Jim Jefferies at Logan Hall in Bloomsbury, in town. We had seen a few of his YouTube clips online, and when we realised he was doing a show in London, Uns managed to grab a couple of tickets for us, which was just brilliant and certainly worth seeing him when he's next in town!

We had set the weekend aside and kept it free to concentrate on getting the log cabin built - originally the plan was to get someone in to build, or at least help build, the cabin for us. We'd both had enough of working the weekends and figured someone else could do the building, but after contacting numerous people, everyone was either fully booked or could only come when we'd be away or when the folks were over. So as plan B, we thought we'd do it ourselves, which took all of Saturday and Sunday, but managed to get the bulk of it done, much to our delight. The walls and supporting beams were done on Saturday and the roof finished on Sunday, so a busy and strenuous weekend, but a successful one nonetheless!

Then yesterday was the start of a heat wave here, and just ridiculously hot. Raul and Gisela arrived over from SA and brought over more bags than you could imagine, so many that they couldn't bring them all from Gatwick and had to leave his mom there with some bags while they missioned out to our place. After dropping the first load of bags at ours, we left Gisela and Emma at home and myself and Raul headed off to Gatwick to collect the remaining bags and his mom and return home. Once eventually home, we fired up the braai for dinner before they crashed out for the night, but not before trying to organise a last minute taxi for them for the morning to transport all their bags up to King's Cross station!

Today was yet another insanely hot day, almost too hot in fact to be outside, but at least the evenings are a bit more bearable at a nice temperature. So after heading home for a quick bag pack before our week in Ireland, Uns and I headed up to Telegraph Hill to relax up there and enjoy the warmth and the sunset from the park.

We're off to Ireland tomorrow evening for a week so hopefully the weather's just as good over there as it is here!
