On Thursday night last week I met up with Uns out in Wembley to watch Coldplay who were doing a series of four shows at the stadium. We got in there in time to see Lianne La Havas, who was the support act, and then managed to secure ourselves a decent spot near the front in time for Coldplay who took to the stage around 20:30. Even though I didn't know a huge amount of their songs (or so I thought so at first but landed up recognising most of them in the end), their performance and show was absolutely brilliant, and so much ticker tape and colour in the stadium too :)
After our Thursday night out at Wembley we had a fairly chilled out Friday evening at home. Then on Saturday morning we started off with a Skottel breakfast and then cracked on with work in the garden, pulling down the last of the garden shed and dismantling it best we could. In between that was the second rugby test between South Africa and Ireland which at least SA managed to win this week, which brings the series to 1-1 to make for an exciting third and final game this coming weekend.
Yesterday morning we had a very early start, with the alarm going off just after 4am. It was the Ricoh Lord Mayor's Hot Air Balloon Regatta and, after having they had to postpone it the past couple of weekends for less than ideal weather (too windy basically), it was all going ahead this weekend. They'd also moved the launch site from Shoreditch Park over to Burgess Park which was nice and handy for us. We grabbed a taxi over there in time for the launch which was impressive to watch almost 50 hot air balloons taking off over us and all heading out east, with their route being out towards Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf, directly over the O2 and London City Airport before flying out the city into the Essex countryside. Once they'd departed from Burgess Park, we decided to head up to Telegraph Hill to see if we could see them from up there but no such luck unfortunately, all out of site. At least we'd seen them up close for the launch which was good!
Once back home we carried on in the garden trying to bring all the pieces of the shed through the house to the front which takes a bit of time with it just being the two of us. And pieces of scrap metal not the easiest thing to carry either.
But once done with that, we headed down to Walton on Thames for the afternoon with Greg, Kim and the boys. We walked into town for lunch at Craft and Grill and then chilled out back at their house for the afternoon with the boys, before heading back home, exhausted after a long day with such an early start yesterday.
