Last Thursday was our fairly regular Breakfast Club dinner meet up, this time at Brasserie Zédel near to Piccadilly Circus. After meeting everyone in Bar Américain first, we then moved next door into the restaurant for dinner.

On Friday I met up with Uns at Paddington for our weekend away in Bristol for Phil and Julia's wedding. Since our train was a bit later we decided to grab a quick drink at Fountains Abbey, followed by some fish 'n chips at Micky's Fish Bar - cheap and cheerful for dinner, but did the trick. Afterwards we caught our train over to Bristol and then a quick cab ride to the hotel where we met up with Will, Aggie, Paul, Carol, Tom and Anna (and Scarlett). We stayed there briefly and then headed up to room - Uns wasn't feeling great which we originally thought was maybe just motion sickness from the train but unfortunately it wasn't just that and she landed up being awfully sick the entire weekend :( Bad enough when you're at home, and way worse when you're away in a hotel without any home comforts.

On Saturday morning after breakfast and a swim, Uns decided she wouldn't be able to make the wedding, or at least she'd try sleep a bit more and then head through later on. So after getting ready, I met up with Tom, Anna and Scarlett and we walked over to the ceremony which was just down the road. The ceremony was in The Old Council House which was a really nice venue, followed by the reception at Goldbrick House which was about a 15 minute walk up Corn Street. Unfortunately Uns didn't feel any better and never made it through to the wedding and spent the day lying in bed feeling sick :( However, the wedding was still good, and think Phil and Julia had a good time, even with half the jukkas leaving fairly early, except for myself, Mr Shit and Laura who landed up taking it to the max and staying on until the end!

Yesterday was the post-wedding brunch which they had arranged to have at the Avon Gorge Hotel and White Lion pub which both overlook the gorge and the suspension bridge. We had ourselves a Sunday roast there while Uns tried a bit of soup but hardly managed any of it - at least she managed to make it out the hotel room.

After lunch and some time chilling in the sun we grabbed a taxi to the station (via the hotel to pick up Will's suit which he'd forgotten there) and then onto Bristol Temple Meads to catch the train back London.
