A while back Greg had mentioned he'd be coming over to the UK but overlapped with our Sardinian holiday so weren't sure if we'd even be able to meet up. But then his trip landed up getting postponed by a day which in the meantime Uns and myself had organised a braai at home for that Thursday night, the day after we got back. So anyway, Greg and I still planned to meet up, so after flying in from Olbia, I headed into town and met him at The Fire Station pub next to Waterloo where he was with his mate Chris from varsity. After a beer there with them, Greg and I hopped on the tube and headed up to Leicester Square to La Bodega Negra which at first isn't the easiest place to find with their entrance concealed as a rather dodgy looking Soho sex shop. But once inside it was nothing like it's facade and rather a fairly normal (but darkly lit) Mexican restaurant, which I'm glad was the right place otherwise would've been a tricky one to explain to Greg. We both had a good dinner there and then took a walk through town, over the Golden Jubilee Bridge and then Waterloo where Greg caught his train to Weybridge.

Yesterday was back to work but also my first full day with EarnAway - weird to start a new job and have the same commute in, same office and basically the same coworkers :) After work I headed home and prepped the house before everyone started arriving. We had planned the braai as a pre-wedding farewell to Duncs and Laurie and organised it all before knowing Greg would be here, so got him to walk along the scenic south bank to London Bridge to take in a few sights of the city at night, and then get the train over to our place.

Braai

There were about 11 of us in total, so a nice number and good to wish Duncs and Laurie a happy wedding since we'd be up in Stamford at Gav and Jane's wedding over the same weekend as theirs. After the braai and catch up, Greg left to head back down to Weybridge followed slowly by the rest of them. Good to catch up with Greg, even though it was fairly brief but glad it worked out that we were back in time from our holidays honeymoon.
