Last Wednesday evening the plan was to hop off at Peckham Rye and go to the gym but since the weather was fairly nice, Uns and I decided to hit Frank's instead for a cocktail followed by dinner at the Dolls House, so not quite as healthy a night as originally planned :)

On Thursday was our work summer party over at The Brewery in Moorgate. However it wasn't quite the summer weather that we all expected, but rather lightning and thunder and fairly miserably weather. Didn't really bother me too much, I hadn't intended to stay on but rather leave when the music started and head home to pack for our weekend away camping.

After work on Friday, after heading home to grab the last of the camping gear, we headed out by train down to East Grinstead to Evergreen Farm, which Uns had found online and looked awesome. After setting up camp (in the rain), Andrew and Sula arrived down and met up with us. They had driven down but got caught up in traffic on the way through. It had only taken us a couple of years to plan a camping trip with them but we eventually got there! After helping them set up their tent, we fired up the braai and a campfire and chilled out there for the night.

On Saturday morning after breakfast and a coffee and some time around camp, we took a walk and made our way to The Old Dunnings Mill for lunch, followed by a decent walk to the Weir Wood Reservoir and back which took a fair bit of the afternoon. Once back, we hopped in their car to pop into town to grab food and drink for that night and spent the evening around the braai and campfire again.

Yesterday morning after breakfast we packed up camp and with a bit of a squeeze all getting into their car, Uns and myself got dropped at the station and headed on home. A really good weekend away, first time out to Evergreen Farm but we'll certainly be back. Have provisionally booked in a weekend in October, but that'll be weather and cold dependant - will decide nearer the time :)
