On Friday towards the end of work I headed off and made my way over to London City Airport and met up with Noel before our flight to Dublin for his stag weekend. After a couple of quick beers at the airport and the flight over, we met up with Mark and the three of us drove up to Carlingford where we were based for the weekend. Hag and Simon were already there and Sammon and Donners arrived just after us. After dinner in the apartment and talking about going out for hours, we eventually headed out down to Ma Bakers traditional pub which was fairly average but probably one of the few places that would've let us in after midnight.
On Saturday we had an early start for our Laser Combat activity up in the mountains. Mark had organised the early morning activity which was probably good to get us all up early and started in time. It was a good 15 minute walk up to the forests in their purpose built Laser Combat arena, and spent a few hours rotating teams and combat games, until the final round, where it was "every man for himself" and I came out victorious, after Donners got Noel with an admin kill. Classic!
After our session up in the mountains it was back to the apartment for a few beers on the balcony in the sun before the hen party theme came out. Mark had gone to town to organise the afternoon into a full blown hen party and did brilliantly, especially when we all headed out to PJ O'Hare's for the afternoon. After spending the afternoon down there, we headed back for food, some drinking games and then out for night.
Stag Sunday is always a bit slow and painful, made even worse with a 10am checkout which turned out to actually be midday, we just misheard on the Friday! Idiots :) Sammon and Donners had left already, so after our early checkout, we grabbed a breakfast at Dan's Stonewall Cafe, after which Simon and Hag decided to get on the road. Mine and Noel's flight wasn't until the afternoon so us two and Mark took a bit of a walk round the harbour and back before hopping into the car and back to Dublin airport.
Flight delays are never fun, but always worse after a big weekend. At least Noel and I were in the BA lounge while we waited until we eventually got to board and head back to London. A bit tired today, but at least I don't feel nearly as bad as the Monday after my stag, so can't really complain :)
