Last week, after a fairly healthy start to the week with a visit to the gym on Monday and a fairly quiet Tuesday, I headed down to Brighton with the tech team from work for a few days involving presentations, discussions and some go karting to finish it off. On the Wednesday after checking into the Royal Albion hotel, we headed out for dinner at Fishy Fishy, followed by a couple of pubs and then finishing up back at the hotel bar before calling it a night.
On Thursday we had presentations and discussions all day in the hotel conference room, and finally once done with it a few of us made our way down to the beach for a couple of beers in the late afternoon sun on the seafront. For dinner that evening we all ate at Preto Steakhouse, followed up by a visit to the Walkabout and then to The Fishbowl which was still open late and serving drinks.
Friday morning started off quite early with more presentations and once done with those it was over to Q-Leisure for an afternoon of go-karting. I figured I'd be OK at go-karting, turns out I was wrong, but at least I didn't come last, but almost :) After a few sessions around the track, we headed back up to London, I grabbed a beer with Marty and then headed on home.
On Saturday Uns and myself headed out to Bromley for Jason's birthday, who had organised to have it at Bromley Park which was hosting their first beer festival, but turned out to be more like a family day out with a small beer tent in the corner. But still had a good day with the work (and ex work) crowd and after the afternoon at the festival we headed over to The Chatterton Arms for a quick beer and then to Shampan for a curry for dinner before catching the last train home.
Yesterday we had been invited over to Gav and Jane's place for an afternoon braai so caught the bus over to Greenwich and spent the afternoon over at theirs for a late lunch. It's meant to be nice and sunny all of this week so hopefully get to spent as much of it outdoors as possible!
