Last week Wednesday Una and I had booked the day off work, it was fairly last minute but we figured since it was meant to be 24 °, the hottest day of the year so far, it made perfect sense for a day outside instead of in the office. We did have quite a few wedding jobs to sort first thing, so after making our way into town we grabbed breakfast at Damson and Co. then missioned around getting what we needed to as well as popping by Alan to briefly resize the wedding bands and sort out the engraving. From the engravers it was quickly up to Selfridges then tapas for lunch at La Tasca on Saint Christopher's Walk. The rest of the afternoon was spent at home soaking up the warm afternoon sun, so much better than an afternoon in the office!
On Thursday evening we decided on the Montague for dinner and then a quick sort out around the house for the weekend, and Friday afternoon I headed down to Gatwick to meet up with the jukkas before boarding our flight over to Amsterdam for my stag. It's all getting quite real and quite close now when I'm off on my stag... exciting but know it's not long to go now! The guys had booked the Mansion which was sweet - managed to sleep all 16 of us which worked well.
After a fairly big Friday night, we started off with some breakfast and a few us hit up some early beer beers in Leidseplein Square while the rest of the guys headed off down to the supermarket to stock up with food and drinks for dinner later on that evening.
After a few beers in the sun, we all made our way down to the pier and boarded our boat for the afternoon - a three hour cruise up and down the canals and back again. Between the sunny weather and all you can drink beer for the afternoon, the cruise was a great success. After the boat and some missioning about town (still in the costume) we headed off for the worst photo shoot ever and then back to the house for pizza and drinks. That night again was again pretty big, finishing up rather late and feeling rubbish all of Sunday.
After checking out on Sunday morning we headed past Anne Frank's house for a quick photo, then grabbed a steak at Black and Blue and then made our way over to Hill Street Blues before going in search of somewhere sunny to chill out in the sun for the afternoon.
After a while in the sun we made our way to the airport and eventually home to crash for the night. Sunday and yesterday were two of the longest days ever and as much as I had a brilliant time over the weekend, I am glad it's over with :) At least I'm feeling a bit more alive today and getting ready for a fairly busy week of jobs and last minute sorting before the international crowds start arriving in pre-wedding...
