On Saturday, after lunch at home, I headed out into town to the National Theatre for a photowalk organised by Trey Ratcliff. He last did a London photowalk about five years ago before I was into photography so was good to be in town when he organised one. After meeting outside the National Theatre and an introduction by Trey and a run through of the day, we headed down along the south bank, over the Golden Jubilee footbridge, up to Trafalgar Square, down Whitehall and past Downing Street, then up to Victoria Tower Gardens, over Westminster Bridge and finished up at the London Eye. With regular stops along the way for photos, we probably took about 3 hours in total to complete the walk. The plan was to then end of the walk with a beer or two at the Slug and Lettuce but trying to fit an additional 200 people into an already crammed bar didn't sound like fun so I decided to head on home instead of attempting the Slug. Annoying I had decided to carry my tripod so probably didn't get as many pictures as I'd have liked but still managed a few snaps!

On Sunday myself and Uns figured we'd try somewhere else for lunch instead of the ever faithful Telegraph, so we took a walk over towards Peckham Rye Park and got ourselves a good lunch at The Rye pub. After a feed we took a stroll down Bellenden Road and then the bus over to Tower Gateway. Since we got through quite early, we took a walk along the river edge and even got ourselves some ice-cream, it was a mild enough day for that! From there we headed up to 20 Fenchurch Street to the Walkie-Talkie building and up to the Sky Garden on the 37th floor. I'd gotten us tickets a few weeks back and timed it nicely for sunset as well as being a beautiful crisp winter's day.

After a good walk around there, plenty of photos, the sunset and a few glasses of red, we made our way down and caught the tube up to Camden to the London Irish Centre for their Sunday night cèilidh dancing. Even though I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, it was good fun and myself and Uns were certainly made to feel welcome with a special announcement beforehand :)

We landed up getting home around midnight then up early yesterday morning and over to the Shard for breakfast in Aqua Shard on the 31st floor. Myself and Una had booked the day off yesterday to sort a few wedding tasks and thought we'd start the day with a breakfast with a view. The day/morning wasn't nearly as nice as it was on Sunday which was a pity, but still clear enough to see a good distance out.

After breakfast we caught the tube over to Bond Street and met up with Carol and Elliot who introduced us to Alan to get the wedding rings sorted. We were there for sometime, first chatting about the rings and then being shown around his workshop and chatting about the 'good old days' of being a jeweller. The rest of the day was spent at John Lewis sorting out the wedding registry and trying to decide to everything we wanted added to that but think we're now sorted with it all. Once we were eventually sorted with the registry, we grabbed a bite to eat there and then headed home to put our feet up for the evening, after what felt like a long weekend of a lot of walking :)
