The weekend previous to this one just gone by was always meant to be a bit quieter with no real plans for either the Friday or the Saturday night, and surprising we managed to keep to that! Saturday morning we were up fairly early and headed into town for a day of shopping - both stuff for ourselves as well as some wedding things which we want to take back over at Christmas. After a full morning around we town we headed down to O'Neill's on Carnaby Street and managed to catch the second half of the SA Italy game which SA won by 22 points to their 6 in a rather boring game. But from O'Neill's we dashed home in time for the Ireland Australia game which was a lot more exciting with Ireland beating them 26 - 23 in a rather nail-biting game.
Then Sunday was such a dark, cold, wet and miserable day outside we landed up not leaving the house at all, not even for dinner - pizza delivery to the rescue :) Just couldn't bring ourselves to venture outside. But on the positive side we did manage to get a few prints hung in the house which we've been wanting to do for ages so rather glad that's done for now. Still a few more we want to do, but that's next month's job.
Last Thursday and Friday were after work drinks with Thursday being a quick one down at the Princess of Shoreditch for the monthly social and Friday being Jason's leaving drinks at the Barley Mow. After a few at the Barley Mow we headed for food and tried MEATmission but weren't at all keen for the 1h45 wait, so decided on Red Dog Sandwich Shop instead. After grabbing a bite there I called it a night and headed off home.
Saturday morning was an early start with Uns and myself heading off to Acton for our mandatory pre-marriage course at Acton Green Church. It landed up being a better day than we both expected, and finished in time that we could catch most of the Wales SA game at the The Duke of Sussex pub. After the game we headed back into town and hopped off at Westminster where we decided to walk along the south bank and check out the Christmas markets. We stopped in at Gourmet Pizza Co. for dinner then continued along to London Bridge and finally home.
After a full day out on Saturday we figured we'd take it easy on Sunday and we Uns spent the day making the house all Christmassy and festive. It still doesn't quite feel like Christmas outside, but certainly does at home :)
Then last night were the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) Awards dinner down at Old Billingsgate so after work I headed down there with Matt and Sophie, first for a beer at The Walrus & The Carpenter then over to Old Billingsgate for the night. Those awards dinners are always a bit strange, the ceremony usually drags on a bit and never they exciting (unless you're up for an award) but then the entertainment, food and music usually makes up for it. The MC of the night was Jason Manford who I'm sure also did the Revolution Awards a few years ago when I went with Spo, maybe it's his thing? nge
Anyway was a good night and finished up around 1 so no doubt going to struggle a bit through today but nothing planned for tonight, just chill out and pizza!
