A few weeks ago Greg mentioned he'd be making another trip for work over to the UK but would only be for a couple of nights and be staying down in Addlestone as well. So on Tuesday morning he arrived, headed through to the office for the morning then made his way up to London. I finished up work a bit earlier and made my way down to Waterloo where we met up at the London Eye. Greg had mentioned wanting to see the poppies so we hopped on a bus to Tower Bridge to go check them out. It was probably a bit too dark to really appreciate them but at least Greg got to check them out. I'd seen them previously, but probably also in the fading light, so might need to make another visit during the day before the 11th when they'll all be taken down.

From the Tower of London we caught the tube to Embankment and walked up to Covent Garden. We'd booked dinner at La Tasca but were a bit early for our table so stopped in at the Porterhouse next door for a quick beer. Uns joined us there a bit later and then headed back to La Tasca, where we were joined by Noel and Megan. We all decided on tapas for dinner and ordered a good mix of plates between the five of us.

After the tapas we headed through to Soho via Leicester Square where we dropped Greg off to head back down to Addlestone while the three of us carried in to the Soho Theatre where we'd booked tickets for James Acaster's show 'Recognise'. We'd only seen him on TV so good to see his stand up, still new on the comedy circuit but always love a bit of stand up humour! After the show we decided to grab a sneaky drink and landed up in The French House, which was the most pub like and least trendy place, perfect for a quick one before calling it a night.

Then last night after work I met up with Greg at Shoreditch High Street - we'd not planned to do any sightseeing but rather go grab a bite to eat and a couple of beers somewhere. That somewhere was the Blues Kitchen in Shoreditch, but beforehand we decided to pop into Bar Kick for a quick one then over to the Blues Kitchen. We certainly landed up overeating last night, a sharing platter plus a main each... unnecessary but most definitely worth it :)

After dinner we had hoped to stop in at Far Rockaway but were a bit concerned with the time and not wanting to leave it to the very last train to get home. So instead of Far Rockaway, we caught the train to Clapham Junction where Greg caught his train down to Addlestone and I headed back home. Still feeling rather full today after our two meals from last night, but really good to catch up with Greg who had his second day of presentation today and leaves tonight back to Jo'burg.
