Last week we'd organised at work to go for a few beers on Friday so after work John and I met up with Syrus near to Old Street and we headed into town down to Soho. The plan was to go to Flat Iron Steak on Beak Street, but beforehand we made ourselves comfortable over the road at Gem Bar, which used to be Digress Bar, bringing back a few memories! After a couple of cold ones there, Tyrone and Jake joined us while we waited for a table over at Flat Iron Steak who couldn't seat us until almost 10pm. We decided to have another one or two at Gem Bar before visiting the bar downstairs at flat iron steak, where we ordered Old Fashioneds, donuts and ox cheeks. After our starter downstairs, we headed up for our steak upstairs which has stripped down the steakhouse stereotype and more of a warehouse-like decor with plenty of exposed brick and steel throughout.
During the dinner, John decided we needed karaoke so booked us a booth over at Lucky Voice down the road. So after eating we made our way there, waited in the bar area until our booth was ready then had ourselves 2 hours of karaoke, something definitely not my strong point my life :) But still good fun!
Yesterday morning wasn't too bad, better than expected, so Uns and myself headed down to the Blackbird Bakery by the station for coffee and some brunch. The rest of the afternoon was spent chilling at home, we both figured we'd not had a Saturday night in for months and could do with a quieter weekend so decided on a movie, which we both fell asleep to half way through - probably why we go out on Saturdays :)
Today was just a 'chill at home' day with nothing planned except for Will moving in with us for this week. And since it was fairly wet and miserable outside we decided to head to The Telegraph for a roast for lunch then home for the afternoon in front of the TV. So other then Friday night, it really was a fairly quiet chilled out weekend around the house!
