After getting back from Portugal last week Friday, no time was wasted in getting back into the swing of things. I headed out on Saturday morning over to Putney to watch the rugby firm at The Normanby - Australia vs South Africa which unfortunately turned into Aus winning by 1 point.
After the rugby, I headed home via Steers and later on myself and Uns made our way up north to Camden to the London Irish Centre to watch Tommy Flemming. I'd not heard if him before and Uns really wanted to see him live and had booked tickets for us. It was good to see him, I knew some of the songs he played but thoroughly enjoy the introduction stories before each song. Afterwards we stopped in at Mango Shack for a quick beer while we waited for our train.
Sunday was just a quiet day around the house with us putting up the tent we'd bought to check we were able to pitch it and pack it away fairly easily. Otherwise just a fairly lazy day at home. On Tuesday there was a Breakfast Club sushi night organised in Battersea, so after meeting up for a beer at the Slug & Lettuce by Clapham Junction, all 13 of us headed over to Sushi Cafe along Battersea Park Road. It was an all-you-can-eat buffet, so definitely not a shortage of dinner that night.
On Wednesday evening I headed out to Stratford and met up with Una outside Westfield near to the Olympic Stadium. It was the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games and I had read online that the Red Arrows would be flying over to we decided to watch them first before wandering around the mall. As planned they flew over the stadium just after 7 and disappeared into the distance.
After their flyover we popped into a few shops and grabbed a pizza at Franco Manca and then made our way home. This evening after work I headed over to the Leadenhall Market with John, Shannon and Andrew and met up with Syrus and Jake for some cheese and wine followed by a couple of beers. I didn't hang around for too long, made my way home to pack for our camping trip away this weekend.
