Last Wednesday were the South African general elections for international voters, so after lunch I headed through to Trafalgar Square and joined the 3-hour queue to cast my vote inside South Africa House. After I was done, Una came into town and since it was such a nice evening, we sat in Victoria Embankment Gardens for a while enjoying the evening sun before making our way back through Trafalgar Square where I grabbed myself my new favourite T-shirt :)

For dinner that night we decided to try Five Guys which for the first time didn't have a crazy long queue outside. After eating we headed through Leicester Square and popped into Cork & Bottle Wine Bar which we'd looked into before but never actually gone in. We just stayed for a single glass of wine then moved on down to Les Deux Salon which was alright, but had more of an "old man's exclusive bar from the 50's" feel instead of a French brasserie which they're trying to be.

On Thursday evening I headed out to Putney to meet the rest of the Breakfast Club crowd, first at the Prince of Wales for a drink then next door to Roxie Steak for dinner. It's now the fourth time I've been to number 136 Upper Richmond Road and each time it's a different restaurant - first was Chakalaka, then Putney Pies, followed by Pucci Pizza and now Roxie Steak. It turned out that Roxie Steak was thought up sometime ago by few South Africans who had been wanting a decent, affordable steak restaurant in London and now have three branches around South West London, with Putney being their third and latest. The steak was certainly delicious, and will no doubt be returning there again! After our meal and a rum and coke I headed home and met up with Una for a quick beer who'd been out bowling with her work crowd so couldn't join us for steak.

After a rather quiet Friday night, Saturday was quite busy starting off with a trip into Borough Market and a coffee at Monmouth in the sun. After picking up some steaks from the Ginger Pig, we headed home to drop the food and make our way over to B&Q to get some household goods. After buying way more than expected, we got a taxi back to the house and spent the afternoon doing a bit of DIY and work in the garden, followed by a lekker braai to end the day :)

Yesterday was another fantastic day and spent a good part of it outside in the garden, getting it prepped for the summer months. Later on in the afternoon Uns and myself headed out to Parson's Green and met up with Si and Will who were chilling out in the park. We grabbed a couple of beers for the park and afterwards, when it started getting a bit cooler, headed over to The Duke on the Green. We were later joined by Lorenzo, Laura and Mark and stayed on at The Duke for another few beverages before heading down New King's Road to Kebab Kid and then a taxi home.

Today was just a nice chilled out day at home with the same spring/summer's weather as yesterday. After coffee and breakfast outside in the garden, Uns and myself spent the day just relaxing in the sun, followed by a braai this evening. After a fairly busy few days, was nice to just chill out at home, especially with the weather being that good. Plus it's only a four day week coming up which is always a bonus!
