This morning was certainly not a sunrise start, figured we'd done enough exercise last night and decided on a bit of a later start then dawn. But once up and ready, we grabbed a taxi over to the waterfront and got ourselves a coffee and a muffin at Tribakery, near to the Nelson Mandela Gateway. We had booked tickets out to Robben Island on the 10am ferry, so after something to eat and drink, we caught the ferry and made our way out to the island.

The tour lasted a few hours and once back at the waterfront, we were picked up by the folks and made our way over to Table Mountain. They'd bought tickets for us online earlier today, which saved us having to stand in the queue and wait. I hadn't been up the mountain for many, many years - long before the new cable car had been built, so quite exciting to ride in that. We spent a good few hours up on top, taking a walk along the back paths over to the top of the Platteklip Gorge and then back along the front again and finally back down to the car, which took a while as clearly everyone else also waited until the end of the day before taking the cable car down.

We had hoped to try get to Forries for a quick sundowner, but with the queue of traffic to get away from the mountain we landed up running behind time and headed straight for the Lundie's place in time for Francis' delicious fish braai which went down a treat with us all. After spending the evening there, the folks dropped us back off at the hotel. Tomorrow we got a fairly early start and a full day out in wine country which should be good!
