After arriving down here in Cape Town yesterday, we were met at the airport by Francis and headed back to their place for pizza, a couple of beers and a bit of a catch up. Was good seeing the Lundies again, last time would've been at Greg's wedding back in 2010. After a bit of time at theirs, we headed off to our hotel to check in.

There landed up being a bit of a problem with our booking and not being on the system, but eventually that was sorted out by our new buddy Ryan who has clearly made it his mission to make sure we have the best possible stay at the hotel - including cheese platters, wine, free breakfast and anything else he can throw at us. Certainly can't complain about the customer service there! Then after dropping our bags in the room and briefly checking out the rooftop pool, we met up with the folks and Lundies downstairs and made our way up to Tafelberg Road, just off Kloof Nek Road and right at the base of Table Mountain.

After sometime admiring the view over Cape Town from Tafelberg Road, we made our way down Kloof Nek and over to the V&A Waterfront for a bit of a walk around.

We figured a beer is definitely in order and stopped in at Quay Four for a nice cold one out front. Uns and I just stayed for the one before popping over to Mitchells Ferryman's to meet up with the Chuck and his girlfriend Nicole. We sat for a while outside waiting for the two of them, only to realise they were inside Mitchells looking for us, not outside at Ferryman's. I just figured they were the same place (same name) but apparently Mitchells is the brewery on one side and Ferryman's is the bar & restaurant next door, so I was almost correct with my assumption, but at least we met up in the end.

After a couple at Ferryman's, we made our way back to Quay Four for food, but landed up sitting upstairs instead of outside as none of us were keen to stand and wait in a queue. Without much hesitation, we all decided on some sort of seafood platter for dinner which went down a treat. We're hoping to catch up with them again early in the week before they fly up to Joburg, but will organise that in the next day or two. Was good catching up with old Chuckles again.
