Over the past couple of weeks we've had some fantastic weather here in London. Spring really has sprung early for us, and even though we're all making the most of it, it's in our nature to kind of expect it to turn for the worst. But here's hoping it stays and leads into the summer. Last weekend was a good sporting weekend, with an afternoon of the Six Nations at home on the Saturday and then Sunday landed up being 17°C outside, the hottest day of the year so far, which is brilliant for March. So I decided to head out on the bike to and around Crystal Palace park, while Uns went for a run around Telegraph Park. The afternoon we headed down to Sutton for a BBQ at Robbie and Gillean, who we hadn't seen in ages. Probably didn't get to spend as much of the afternoon outside as we would've liked, but still a good visit and dinner out at theirs.

On Tuesday we had a tech team dinner out in Leytonstone for Donatus' birthday, at the Shepherds Inn, a Lithuanian restaurant out there. Don't normally do many nights out with the whole team, but good to head out with everyone. After a silly amount of food and a few vodka shots, which resembled Tom and Anna's Polish wedding, we made our way down the road to The Bell for a rum and coke and a couple of games of pool.

Then this Friday just gone by, myself, Will and Tom met up for a catch up and something to eat. We decided on Vivat Bacchus near to London Bridge which, according to their website, is a celebration of rustic, robust food, artisan cheeses and great wines. It's South African in origin, with two branches in London, one in London Bridge and one in Farringdon, which Will decided to go to first before realising he was an idiot and joining myself and Tom at London Bridge. The decor, slightly industrial with open ceilings, exposed pipes and ducts creates the feeling of being in a working winery, even though we all settled for Windhoek and the Zulu Blonde lagers. To eat, we were sold on the 500g beef ribs, which were amazing and definitely a good call. After our meal, we thought we'd try the Shard for a quick drink, but didn't get in because of our footwear, so settled on the Bunch of Grapes instead. We just stayed for the one beer before all calling it a night.

Saturday was yet another fantastic day outside, which is a bonus that it's over the weekend. Usually the best days land up being a Monday which is always annoying, but over a weekend is always great. I hopped on the bike again and headed out on a lengthy ride out towards High Elms via Beckenham and back again via Bromley. The full GPS route I downloaded heads out from central London to Sandhurst in Kent which I'd like to attempt one weekend. But for now a good two and a half hour round trip is alright for a Saturday morning.
The afternoon Uns and I were just just at home watching the France Ireland game to determine whether Ireland or England would win it this year, and in a rather tense game, Ireland managed to overcome the French and win this year's title, but certainly not the most relaxing 80 minutes. In between all of this, we were trying to get ready for a wedding out at The Grange Bar and Restaurant in Sutton that night. We just had evening invites to Leah and San's wedding, so as soon as the final whistle blew, we were ready to dash and catch the train out there. The evening was good, we didn't know too many people, but still had a good time and got a taxi back instead of staying over which I think was a good choice.
Sunday was yet another beautiful day, with clear blue skies and temperatures that felt more like summer than early spring. After starting the day off with a coffee outside in the sun, Uns and myself spent the rest of the day at home, mainly outside doing a bit of work in the garden, and just making the most of this sunny weather while it lasts. Hoping we get another awesome summer this year!

Last night I was off to the O2 with a crowd from work to watch the final night of Jack Whitehall's latest arena tour - Jack Whitehall Gets Around. We'd been offered tickets through Visa and got to use their suite at the O2, but unfortunately didn't include any free bar or food. I had looked a while back at maybe getting tickets for his show but never did, so quite happy that I got to see him live.
