This past weekend we had two engagement parties, mine and Una's on the Friday night and then Sarah and Neal's on the Saturday night. Strangely enough, after them and us getting engaged on the same day, we landed up organising our engagement parties on the same weekend. On Friday afternoon, myself, JP, Andrew and Syd headed down to Far Rock Away in Shoreditch for our Friday afternoon meeting and landed up spending the best part of the afternoon down there. It's suddenly jumped up on my list of places to go back to, after watching them refurbish it over the months, it certainly impressed. After a good few beers work related discussions, I hopped on a bus and made my way through to The Stand and met up with Uns at The Nell of Old Drury for a quick tipple before everyone else started arriving. We had booked a couple of tables at Sarastro, the Turkish-oriented Mediterranean restaurant where we'd gone for Una's birthday last night. There were a total of 32 of us, so a good turnout indeed. After our meal there, we lost the majority of the group but the remaining 7 of us headed over to The Players Lounge for a few drinks there before calling it a night.

With Friday being a rather late one, we just chilled out at home on Saturday doing very little except watching TV. Then later that evening, even though we both really didn't feel like heading out, once showered and change, we were good to go and headed down to Camberwell to The Grand Union for Sarah and Neal's engagement party. They had hired out the room at the back, so at least we had that whole area to ourselves, even though the pub wasn't all that busy, especially for a Saturday night. Had a good night there even though I only knew a handful of people, but hardly a problem. We landed up staying until last round before calling it a night, but not before a quick visit to the dirty bird on the High Street :)
Yesterday we headed into town to the National Theatre to go check out the annual Landscape Photographer of the Year exhibition "Take A View 2013" which I'd been wanting to go see, plus Uns had gotten me the book for my birthday so wanted see the displays before paging through the book. And as before, I walked out there impressed, jealous and itching to get my camera out there :) Afterwards we made our way to The Porterhouse for lunch and then back up to Sarastro to pick up our glass decanter which we'd gotten as a gift on Friday evening but decided to leave it there instead of taking it to the pub, even though it had already broken in half :( Sad times, but nothing a bit of superglue couldn't fix yesterday afternoon! Once we eventually got home, which seemed like an eternity, we chilled out watching a film and repairing the decanter back to it's former glory.
