So the big news from yesterday was Una saying yes to marrying me! Very exciting indeed, and I managed to pull it all off without her having any sort of idea at all. Just me and the Boss knew - even he managed to keep that quiet which I'm pleased about.
Yesterday morning we started off with a visit up to Donal and spent a bit of time catching up with him. From his place we made our way over to Liss Aard for a walk around there. They have some nice walks around the estate as well as a Sky Garden which Uns and I struggled to find at first but got there eventually. Obviously this whole time I'd been planning the engagement so wasn't fully focused on Liss Aard - had a couple of other things on my mind.
I'd been banging on about a sunset the whole day, so the plan was to head up to Knockdrum in time for that when we got a call from Declan asking us to pop in. Obviously I was trying to down play it all and said we'd go afterwards. Luckily it all went to plan and we made our way up to the fort in plenty of time. Once up there, I got my camera all setup to snap away photos and, after convincing Una to stand up on the wall with the tinfoil to act as a distraction, I made my way over to her and went down on one knee.

After the initial shock and excitement, we got down off the wall and opened a mini bottle of champagne and Prosecco which I'd been carrying with me, as well as some chocolates and a music playlist on my laptop. Since my phone had stopped working, I had to resort to using the laptop. But it all worked out well in the end!
After we were done with the bubbly, we made our way home to let the Boss and Biddy know as well as the folks, and then the rest of the family as well! After letting everyone know, we decided to head out for dinner and decided on La Jolie Brise Pizzeria down in Baltimore. The pizza there was excellent and afterwards we headed home to watch The Day After Tomorrow on TV at home. It landed up being a fairly quiet night for us, especially having to drive back from Baltimore plus we'd all be out tonight down in the village, so both happy to save our celebration for later this evening!
