Last Thursday I met up with Tom, Oli and a few others for lunch down at The Orange Buffalo just off Brick Lane. They do amazing New York style buffalo wings, so figured it'll be good to meet up and grab lunch there. The only reason I'm mentioning this compared to any other lunch was my choice off the menu - "The Snake in the Basket", which is a box of seven original wings with one viper wing hidden inside. Needless to say I was a bit of a mess by the end, with the hottest one being the last of the eight :)
Then the weekend happened to be back to back nights of drinks and dinner around the Shoreditch area. On Friday afternoon myself, JP, Andrew and and Syd popped out for a late afternoon coffee and thought we'd head down to BOXPARK Shoreditch to check out the new Xbox, which had just launched the previous day I think.
It turned out to be crazy expensive, so JP decided against buying himself one and we figured while we were there we might as well grab ourselves a beer. Which then turned into another beer. And then even a couple of shots along the way too. So what started out as a quick coffee run turned into a late afternoon drinking session, which never ends well :) After a few at BOXPARK, we popped back to the office to grab our things then JP, Syd and myself got a taxi over to Dukes Brew & Que who unfortunately were fully booked, so instead we headed down the road to Song Que Cafe and to get a table there. We ordered some drinks and Chinese food, at which point I decided it best to call it a night and grab a taxi home, which was probably a pretty good idea looking back :)

The Irish crew were over for the weekend, and we had booked a table at Amici Miei for dinner last night. Uns and myself got to Shoreditch a bit before them so decided to grab ourselves a pre-drink at Bar Prague which was the quietest of the lot on the street and quickest to serve. Since our table wasn't quite ready on time, we popped into Due Sardi for a quick beer while waiting, then headed next door to Amici Miei for dinner, which is the pizzeria that Gav recommended and took us to a while back.
After dinner we thought we'd check out Translate Bar which seemed to be fairly lively and landed up staying there until late which was good fun. There was talk of carrying on elsewhere, but the others decided against so Uns and myself thought we'd try get into Sushi Samba which is on top of the Heron Building and the floor below the Duck & Waffle. Unfortunately they were closed so we landed up just going home instead, which was a pity. But maybe for the best!

Today's just been an exceptionally lazy day around the house of eating and TV watching, and that's about it. Good to do every now and then, especially the winter now approaching...
