Sometime back Will had booked tickets for him, Lorri, Duncs, Will, Uns and myself to go watch Gravity at the Imax. Unfortunately he could only get tickets for the 10pm show, so a fairly late finish for a school night, especially a Monday. I thought the movie was alright - the special effects and shots of outer space were amazing but the story line itself was fairly lame, which I guess was kind of expected.
After a late one on Monday, the rest of the week was fairly easy going, just trying to keep up with the gym and so far so good. Then Saturday morning Uns and myself headed into London Bridge and across to Borough Market for breakfast upstairs at Roast. After breakfast we grabbed a coffee at Monmouth, browsed around the market then made our way home. Uns was meeting up with Carol and I had planned to chill out at home to watch the England New Zealand game followed by the Ireland Australia game. The Kiwis won the first game and Aussies secured the second game so both games going against what I had hoped for.

Sunday morning was an early start with Uns having booked the Old Deer Park Richmond 10K fun run. The starting point was in Old Deer Park, which unfortunately wasn't all that near the actual deer in Richmond which I wasn't hoping to photograph while Uns ran. But at least it was fairly close to the river which is always good to walk along. After the run we made our way into Putney and met up with Noel and Megan at Tried & True for breakfast which we hadn't been to in ages, and still as good as it always was! After breakfast we stopped by FTG go say hi, then I made our way down the road with Si and Will to the Captain Cook to watch the Scotland vs SA game which they were showing on the big screen there. Turned out to be a rather one sided match with the Boks winning by 28 points against their empty scorecard. Let's hope we can do something similar against the French this coming Saturday!

As if going out last Monday evening wasn't enough, we had booked tickets sometime back to go watch Nigeria vs Italy at Craven Cottage down in Fulham. I'd never been to the stadium, despite having lived in the area for almost 7 years, so was quite exciting to eventually get there even though it wasn't Fulham who were playing. We met up outside the stadium, had enough time for a quick beer then found our seats in the Johnny Haynes upper stands. The crowd attendance was just over 15,000 and good support for both sides.

Italy opened up the scoring and went ahead early on, but Nigeria hit back with two goals in five minutes before half-time, putting the African Nations Cup champions ahead. However, Italy came back and equalised, with both sides finishing on 2 goals each. Definitely one of the exciting games of football I've watched, even though it was just a friendly. After the game we all made our way back towards Putney High Street and left the others to walk home while Uns and I hopped on the train back to Queens Road. Really need to organise to watch a few more games over the winter, especially entertaining ones like that.
