On Thursday evening Tom came round after work for dinner at ours. We hadn't seen him since the wedding, and Anna was still in Poland with her studies. Was good to catch up with Tom, especially considering he lives so close by. Then on Friday after work I headed straight home to drop by bag and chill out for a bit before making my way out to Putney. Uns had gone straight there and met up with her and Seamus at the railway so had a quick beer there before making our way down to Yia Mas for Holly's birthday dinner and leaving drinks, and I guess their engagement if anyone happens to mention it, but might not be the case :) There were about 14 of us out, so a good turnout for dinner. Then afterwards, even though Uns and I originally said we wouldn't, we landed up going back to to Park Life with a few beers and chilling out there for a while, before grabbing a taxi with Duncs and heading home.

Yesterday morning was an early start before a full day out in Cardiff for the rugby. After getting up and on the road, I made my way out to Kew Bridge to meet up with Lorenzo and then catch a lift with Andy and Shaun over to Wales, which was around three hours driving I guess. We arrived around midday, parked the car and found ourselves at the German food market which was quite central and did a decent bratwurst on a roll and sorted us out nicely for lunch. After a few beers we headed to the Walkabout to watch some of the England Argentina game on the big screen there. We didn't stay too long, rather deciding to walk around a bit and attempt a very basic pub crawl. After a couple of pubs and avoiding the annoying drizzle, we made our way to the stadium in time for the anthems and 17h30 kick off.

It certainly wasn't the best game of rugby we've watched, the first half was alright but not a great second half. Having said that, South Africa still managed to outscore Wales by three tries to none to earn a 24-15 win in a ferocious opening game of their European tour. Both Juan de Villiers and Bismarck du Plessis touched down to give us a 17-6 lead after just 17 minutes, and with two of their key players off for injuries quite early, it wasn't looking good for the hosts who had only ever beaten us once in 26 previous attempts. However, they did manage four penalties before half time and another one later one, which took the final score to 24-15 in our favour.

Note: I can't take credit for these few images above, I left my camera at home and landed up stealing someone else's photos from the internet.

After the game we made our way down Chippy Lane for a quick bite to eat then back to the car to head home to London. We landed up getting back after the last train from Kew but managed to made it to Richmond in time for the last train from there. Certainly landed up being a pain getting home, but definitely had a good afternoon of rugby out in Cardiff.

Today I was out in Woolwich at Carrol's place helping Will shoot a few photos for his upcoming short film series - "Like the Dead". They were doing a couple of days of shooting there and wanted some stills which I offered to do. Landed up spending a few hours out there before heading home for the evening to chill out watching a movie and trying to avoid the Sunday night blues!
