Last Saturday night / Sunday morning the clocks went back so we're back to early sunsets and dark evenings once again - a sure sign that winter is approaching. There was a photography meetup group that has organised an event to 'capture the blue hour' which I had signed up for. The blue hour is the period of twilight each morning and evening where there is neither full daylight nor complete darkness, and the sky turns into a vibrant shade of blue and still offers some decent light for photographs.

But before meeting up with the group, Uns and I headed into town for lunch around the London Bridge area. I was keen on a roast for lunch but we guessed we'd run out of time with me needing to meet the photography group, so decided on Strada which is both decent and has a decent view looking out towards Tower Bridge.

After lunch I ridge out and made my way over to Southwark where I met up with everyone else, roughly about 30 people in total, so a decent turn out. From there we made our way down towards the river near to the Founders Arm and were based there for around half an hour. Unfortunately it was almost completely overcast, so no chance of catching the sunset or even that shocking blue colour, but we'd still try our luck anyway. I managed a couple of snaps in the blue hour before we all moved over the Millennium Bridge towards One New Change.

Once we got to One New Change, we grabbed a few photos of St. Paul's from the ground level then headed up on the top viewing deck for a few photos looking over London. After a few from up top I decided to head home in time to batten down the hatches before St Jude's storm hit us.

Most of this past week was fairly chilled out, with nothing too crazy going on. Sarah moved out on Friday evening and in with Neal, although just down the road so they're still just round the corner. Last night was the Blackheath Fireworks which is the largest free display in London, so that evening Uns and myself caught the bus over to Blackheath to watch the display there, which I reckon is certainly more impressive than the Battersea display which isn't free for all. And way closer to home.

En route home I landed up getting smacked in the eye by a random branch hanging into the side walk, so after noticing how red and not normal it started to look, we figured we'd head off to Kings to try get it sorted which wasn't too bad at all.

Today was lunch over at the Spotted Horse in Putney which I hadn't been to ages, or even able to remember when last I ate there. Lozzie had organised it to try get whoever wad around out for lunch and turned into a good crowd of us. The roast was OK only, certainly nothing great and not quite as good as the Telegraph but good to meet up with the others.
