The past couple of weeks have been really quiet. We went out Thursday two weeks ago for dinner at the fairly new Vietnamese place, Old Saigon, just off Putney High Street. It replaced Friends Cafe, and since none of us had been there before, Lozzie decided to organise a group dinner there for everyone as part of Matt and Bianca's last night in London before they headed off to Croatia.
There were about 14 of us in total, so a good turn out indeed. I went for the Vietnamese curried goat which sounded good and was actually amazingly delicious. Then after dinner, we decided to make our way down the high street and check out the new cocktail bar, The Toy Shop. I'm not usually a fan of cocktail bars, prefer a normal pub, but always happy to give a new place a try out. Yet after ages of sitting waiting to be served, we decided to give up and head over to the Coat & Badge, more so our style. A couple of beers there certainly went down well before Uns and I called it a night and made our way home.

Friday I spent all day feeling rather rough and just seemed to get worse and worse as the day went on. Anyway, that turned out to be a stomach bug or something dodgy from the food, as I landed up spending all of Saturday and Sunday in bed. By Monday I was still feeling awful with a painfully sore throat, so decided to make my way to the walk-in centre over at King's College Hospital to get it checked out. Turned out I then had tonsillitis! Seriously? Who gets a stomach bug and tonsillitis back to back? Annoying. So that kept me in bed until Wednesday and eventually back to work on Thursday, but just took it easy. Not cool.
Last weekend was just a quiet one, wasn't really up to do much, but managed to have a braai on Sunday evening and attempted the old beer-can chicken again. Then Tuesday and Wednesday I was up in Sheffield for work, so Tuesday night turned out to be a bit boozy around Sheffield with Jake and Aaron. Fairly quiet to be honest, guessing it being a Tuesday night as well as the students all being on holiday, but still grabbed ourselves 'all you can eat steak' at Rodizio, followed by a bit of a pub crawl between Bungalows and Bear, Old House and The Common Rooms. Good to start feeling normal again... certainly not a fun couple of weeks!
