On Friday after work, with our recent delivery of blinds in hand, I met up with Uns and headed over the road to the Hoxton Grill for a couple of Friday-evening beers. It was Una's last day at her company after seven and a bit years, so a celebratory drink was certainly in order. She starts her new job in a week, and in between that we're off to Ireland for a bit of a break as well as to help out her mom after her hand op. After a cold one in the Hoxton Grill, we negotiated our way onto the train with the blinds and headed for home for a fairly quiet evening in.

Yesterday morning was the second British and Irish Lions test which I just watched at home while sorting out a few things online and around the house. It turned out to rather exciting finish, with Australia winning by 16 points to 15. After the game, I headed for the station and made my way over to Borough to meet up with the guys who were having their inaugural band practise at the Borough Studios. They had organised it some time ago and asked me to pop along and take some photos of them. So armed with my camera and some beers, I joined them for the last hour of the session and for a first time gig, they weren't all that bad. Certainly a good laugh!

After the practise, I met up with Uns who was in the area and we popped into Borough Market to grab some food for later that evening. After heading back to her place, we finished up the last of the DIY work, which we wanted to get done before the peak of the summer set in - wouldn't want to be stuck indoors when it's nice and sunny outside. But at least the house is coming together nicely now!

Today we decided to pop to the The Telegraph At The Earl Of Derby for lunch and get stuck into their Sunday lamb roast, which they do so well. After eating there, I hopped on the bus and train back to Putney to pack and get my stuff together for our week away in Ireland. The only problem with flying in the evening on a weekend is you can't really settle on doing too much in the afternoon, knowing you need to head out to the airport. Which is a pity considering it was a beautiful day out there today.

I caught the train out to Gatwick Airport and met up with Uns in plenty of time, so we decided to go for a drink and bite to eat at The Flying Horse pub beforehand. Even though we're not all that rushed for time, when you're flying with Ryanair you don't want to risk anything! Such a ridiculous airline. Anyway, I'm off now for a chilled out relaxing week over in the Emerald Isle, will catch up again later in the week or next weekend when I'm back.
