Had a fairly early start on Thursday morning with an interview over at Victoria. Not for a new job or anything, but an identity interview as part of the first-time British Passport application. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but basically just involved a series of questions related to me and my life in the UK. Nothing you could fail, but also no one you could impersonate someone else, so don't really mind going through that process. Hopefully not much longer until the passport arrives now.

Thursday night after work Uns and I headed over to the house to get a bit of work done there. At least the builders had started making some progress and we were able to move things back into the living room and kitchen. From the house we headed over to the hotel for dinner at the restaurant downstairs which was actually rather decent for hotel food. Certainly impressed with the hotel in general.

Premier Inn London Greenwich

On Friday morning I was on the early shift so even though it meant getting in at 8am, I was out there at half 3 which was fantastic and home by just 5. Since it was fairly quiet around the house, I decided on a bit of a nap before a cycle around Richmond Park which wasn't quite as busy as I thought it may have been. I managed two good laps around there before heading back home to give the bike a decent clean and then chill out the rest of the evening.

Yesterday morning was meant to be a early start and out to Swinley Forest, but with change of plans I headed over to Uns to give her a hand with the house and help get the deliveries from Plumbase over to her place. After dinner more house admin work, I made my way over to Clapham to meet Haig who had come up from Hove. With the weather being really decent, we figured it would be wasted sitting indoors, so we made our way into Waterloo and out to the Southbank.

South Bank London

Being a Saturday afternoon, Southbank was insanely busy so we decided to head down the river towards London Bridge and stop in at the Founders Arms for a late lunch and a couple of beers. After a catch up there and couple of cold ones, Haig headed over to Brick Lane to meet up with Stuart and others, while I made my way over to the Premier Inn by Tower Gateway Tower Bridge where Uns was booked in for this week.

From the hotel we headed out to Shepherds Bush and over to Noel and Megan's place. Brian and Lorraine were over for the weekend, so was good to catch up with them. After a bit of time at their place, we headed round the corner to The Bird in Hand, their local pub which we were told by Noel and Meegs that they do amazing pizzas. Between the pizza (which was as good as they said) and a glass our three of wine, was certainly a good night out there. After the pub closed, we headed back to their place and the four of them made plans to head out to Chelsea and Uns and I decide to catch a taxi back to the hotel.

This morning we started off with breakfast down in the hotel and from there we headed into London Bridge and bus up to Shoreditch. I had read about a bunnychow pop up stand happening at BOXPARK Shoreditch Pop Up Mall today as well as next Sunday, so we figured we'd give it a try. It's been so many years since I would've last had bunnychow, so was quite keen to check it out. The pop up stand was more just a converted food truck, but the bunnychow itself was delicious! We only had the one to share which was enough considering we'd only just had the fry up in the hotel.

After a bite to eat there, we grabbed a coffee from #guardiancoffee, which is a pop-up coffee shop opened by The Guardian. According to a recruitment advertisement posted on the Guardian website, it "is both a coffee shop and space for journalists to work in". The shop has a collection of iPads available for customers to use, as well as digital displays showing the latest tweets from customers via the #guardiancoffee hastag. After our coffee we then headed back to the house for the afternoon to get a bit more work done and a few things sorted out. At least the end is in sight with the house, hopefully they'll be done with the last bits this week!
