On Wednesday evening, we decided to have a midweek braai at Uns' rental place. They have a decent gas bbq out the back so decided to get that fired up and invite a few others around. There were a few of us that managed to make it after work - Luke, Loz, Will, Paul and Carol, so a good number to join in for some beers and a braai. We were a bit worried about the weather, with the forecast varying between rain, cloudy and sunny - so could've been anything I guess. Luckily it stayed on our side and we managed to braai and eat outdoors, so all good! We landed up with so much food left over at the end, but hardly a problem and at least that's my lunch sorted for the next few days too :)

Yesterday was Uns' birthday so after work we met up by Old Street and caught a bus down to the Strand. I hadn't mentioned where we were going for dinner and managed to avoid giving away any hints as well. Unfortunately it was awfully windy and certainly not ideal to walk around, so we figured we'd stop in at The Nell of Old Drury for a pre-drink before dinner. After a quick drink there to whet the whistle, we headed over to Sarastro Restaurant in Drury Lane for dinner. Sarastro is a Turkish-oriented Mediterranean restaurant named after a character from Mozart's The Magic Flute and styled around an opera theme with ten individually styled balconies, velvet drapes, theatrical props and other colourful showy ornaments.

The menu was a set three course meal which was really good and plenty of it, and on Thursday night's they have live entertainment with a swing singer on the mic singing a range of good popular tunes, which had the crowd up on their feet and dancing up front. Really good atmosphere inside and a good enjoyable night!

After a slightly later than expected night last night, just getting rather knackered today and quite keen to head home and chill out there! Uns had finished a bit before me and I met up with her at the Hoxton Grill for a quick (ginger) beer and then headed home, with no plans tonight other than to relax! Especially before a rather full on day tomorrow at the Rugby Sevens!
