After a rather quiet Monday and Tuesday last week, I headed out on Wednesday after work to Woolwich Arsenal to meet up with Paul for a beer or two and something to eat. We had planned to meet up at the Dial Arch which is the pub just near to their place and had been there before but not to eat. The burger there was fantastic and the beers cold, so it certainly ticked all the boxes.

Then on Thursday after work I met up with Luke and Martin and their buddy Matt at the Railway in Putney for their curry night. I'd been wanting a curry for some time and hadn't seen those guys since I'd gotten back, so Thursday night at the Railway seemed the best bet!

On Friday night we landed up working back a few hours to get the last bits of the project live at the office, then headed over the road to the Hoxton Grill for a couple of thank-you drinks from management. I didn't stay too long, had plans to meet up with Uns back by her house, so after a couple with the work crowd I made tracks out towards the Pecks. Tommy Egan was over in London for the weekend, and had popped by Friday evening to firstly check up on the house as well as grab a bite to eat. After a bit of time critiquing the house, we decided on the Telegraph for dinner, just around the corner. After a burger and beer there, we headed to New Cross Gate where Tommy caught the train back into town. Uns and I then headed home to chill out in front of the TV.

After a bit of a lie in on Saturday, I headed back to Putney to meet up with Luke, Martin and Si before the Harlequins game. We decided to meet up at the Railway beforehand, then hop on the train down to Twickenham, where we met up with Ed as well as Lorenzo. The game was at the Twickenham Stoop and was between the Harlequins and Bath. The Quins had lost the last four games in a row, so were certainly looking for a good win that afternoon.

The day had started off with brilliant weather, but as the afternoon went on, so did the possibility of rain, and by the second half it was properly drizzling, windy, cold and miserable. Not the best Spring afternoon to be honest, but still good being out there. The Quins managed a decent win of 23 points to 9 against the visitors, so at least that's broken their losing streak.

After the game we all made our way to the Players Lounge, which is one of the official function rooms they use for post-match drinks and formal dinners, etc. It had a good atmosphere inside there as well as being out of the miserable weather! After one there we jumped on the train and headed back to Putney. The others were going to grab something to eat down the High Street, but I made my way out to Uns' place for dinner there.

Sunday was a fairly early start, with me heading out to Edgware up in North London. I had signed up to a presentation which involved Water Drop Photography - something I had tried once and never really succeeded at. So I figured I'd go along and see what it was all about. Unfortunately it was as far north as you could possibly get in London, but glad I went, was interesting to see the setup and watch the demo. Still not sure if I should buy the kit yet or not...

After the presentation and once back south of the river, I grabbed some lunch and then headed with Uns down to the shops by New Cross Gate to go price a laptop there. After a bit of browsing we headed back home and chilled out for the afternoon and that evening.

Last night we decided to head out for dinner - myself and Uns hadn't been out for a bite to eat since getting back from SA so thought we'd stroll around and grab something somewhere central. After work we made our way down to St. Paul's, which was still rather busy after the Thatcher funeral, and quickly popped up to the roof terrace by One New Change for a panoramic view over central London. We had thought we'd give Gordon Ramsay's Bread Street Kitchen a try out for dinner, but at the last minute we decided against it and settled instead on Byron Burger, basically just next door. You know you're always guaranteed a decent burger there! :) After our meal there, we headed home via the Millennium Bridge and London Bridge which is always lovely at night as well as walking off some of our dinner!

Not too much planned for tonight, just packing my camera stuff (and a few clothes) for the weekend over in Ireland. This was my photography workshop present from Uns for Christmas which was for both Saturday and Sunday, so really looking forward to the weekend!
