Our flight back last Monday evening certainly had less turbulence than our flight out there, but we were stuck down in the cattle class seats - no premium economy upgrade this time round! But at least it was a bit smoother and managed to get a bit of sleep. After landing just on 7am and making our way through passport control, I headed home quickly to drop my bags, shower and mission through to the office, which was a bit of a shock to the body having to do almost a full day's work!

The first day back after a decent holiday always lands up being quite busy, usually with emails and catching up, but meant the day went by fairly quickly. Then that evening I was out at Uns' place to give her a hand in the new house and check out her place which had just started with the renovations. At least she's got a place for the next couple of months while they tear the walls down and floors out of her house.

The next couple of days were fairly quiet and relaxed, then Friday was our monthly social at work, in the theme of a German beer festival. They'd gone all out with this one with the kegs, pretzels, flags and German paraphernalia everywhere. Certainly looked good!

Saturday morning, after a well needed sleep and lazy morning, we were off to Borough Market for breakfast upstairs at Roast. Unfortunately we got there just too late for breakfast, so it turned into burgers for lunch instead. After Roast we took a walk around the market and picked up a range of goodies from various stalls, so certainly looking forward to dinners this week :)

After Borough I headed off home, and decided to quickly pop into Ladbrokes to put a bet or three down on the horses for the Grand National which was later that afternoon, then headed home to watch my horses come in, but unfortunately none of them came in as the winner this year. Maybe next year is when I make my fortune?

Afterwards, I was straight back out over to Woolwich Arsenal to Paul and Carol's place for dinner with them as well as Haig and Caitlin. It was a good evening there and good to catch up with them and updates from our holiday, which now almost seems like a distance memory away. Also was the first time seeing Paul since his back operation, and he certainly appears to be doing really well which is good news!

Yesterday was our first good sunny Spring day this year, which was brilliant and gives most of us some hope that the never-ending-winter could possibly be coming to an end... we hope. We took a bit of a walk around the area and mainly just chilled out, with no plans to do much but rather make the most of a bit of downtime, especially with quite a bit happening the next few weekends!
