On Friday after work we landed up with our horse racing and betting game after work, same as last week, and again think I lost all the money I put down. All £2 of it. Or possibly even less. Not exactly what you'd call a big gambling afternoon! But a good bit of Friday after-work entertainment.

After a good few races, I decided to head home and it so happened all three of us were home early on a Friday, do figured we'd crack open a bottle of red and chilled out in the lounge for a bit. I guess if it was any other given Friday that may have moved onto another bottle of two, but with Lozzie's birthday on the Saturday we thought it best to save it for then instead.

Red Wine at Home

On Saturday, Haig made his way up to London around midday, and then hopped into his car and headed out to North London to Paul and Carrol's place, well, their place for another week only. They were getting rid of a few things and I decided to help them out a bit with a few kitchen things that Una wanted and the Weber, which is slightly bigger than what I've got now, so saved me having to look for one later in the summer!

After dropping the stuff off at Una's place, it was back to Putney to get ready for our evening out. Since we'd hardly eaten, we thought we'd start off at the Railway by the station for a beer and a burger, before getting the train into town and into Gem Bar on Beak Street, not all that far from Piccadilly Circus.

We got there around 9 I guess, a good couple of hours later than the invite start time, but had never planned to be there all that early, even with the half price drinks special up until half 8. A few of the others had gotten there early, and has clearly made some good use of the cheaper cocktails :) Lozzie had booked a booth, so at least we had a place reserved for the lot of us, better than standing around or fighting for tables. It was good to see and chat to everyone who was out, which became more and more of a challenge as the club filled up. We probably left there sometime after 2 and in between the tomfoolery landed up turning the wrong way on Regent Street and walking up to Oxford Circus instead of down to Piccadilly Circus. Ridiculous! But a good laugh anyway.

Yesterday was a pretty slow and head-sore day at home to start off with. But once everyone started to get moving, it made perfect sense to head down to Cappuccino on Upper Richmond for some breakfast, orange juice and coffee. After a feed and something to drink, we headed down the high street for a bit of shopping before cruising back home to chill out for the afternoon.

We then happened to notice that all the episodes of MacGyver and Knight Rider must've recently been put into Netflix, so the rest of the afternoon was spent in front of the TV watching old episodes of MacGyver and Michael Knight! What a Sunday indeed!
