On Monday, being the back holiday, it was a fairly slow and easy day around Putney with a bit of unpacking, sorting and some shopping. I hopped on my bike late afternoon and took a bit of a ride around the area, but nothing too impressive, just kept it local. Then on Tuesday evening after work it was off to the Jolly Gardeners in Putney for leaving drinks for Tom and Katie, as Katie was flying the next day where as Tom still hadn't received his Australian visa so wasn't sure when he'd be jetting off.

Last night was Matt's last night before he headed back to Australia so thought we'd do farewell drinks on the Southbank to see him off. This year, just as they did last year, they've transformed the riverside site into an amusement ground to entice visitors in with fairground rides, circus shows and a programme of international cabaret, music and fringe theatre, known as the London Wonderground. It's really quite festive in there, with a few bars and eating places throughout. It was also the opening ceremony of the Paralympics which I was hoping to watch, and even though they had fairly large TV's showing the action you weren't really able to follow it too closely. Will need to catch a repeat on that online I guess.

It also turned out to be Tom's last night in the UK, he managed to chase down his visa, get it and organise his flight so he too was off to Australia to meet up with Katie. We weren't too late there at Wonderground, think everyone was tired and struggling to get back into the routine of things after Spain. But hey, we'll manage I'm sure :)
