And so the holiday came to an end :( Never a great time but these things happen I suppose. Still, had a fantastic time and really just flew by way too quickly. After getting back from the Pilanesberg, I originally had my ticket booked for the next night, the Wednesday night, but the flight availability wasn't looking all that promising. But thought I'd chance it anyway. The family came round the afternoon in between my packing, even though I was fairly confident I'd still be around until the weekend. But you got to try just in case. So off to the airport we went, we hung around, we waiting, we waited a bit more and then we headed back home, still with all my bags and ticket. No such luck. Still, it meant I had an extra few days on holiday :)

On Thursday I headed through to Nick's office to catch up with the guys from work. I figured since I was meant to be back at work, and I wasn't, the best I could do was catch up with them online. After spending the day there, I went through to Greg and Kim's that evening for dinner. Friday was much the same again at Nick's and then afterwards went through with him and Kris for dinner at Monte Casino, upstairs at Coco Bongo, where we met up with Linda and Brendon who I hadn't yet seen as they had been away on holidays somewhere up until just the other day. So I'm glad I managed to catch up with them too while out here.

On Saturday, the flights looked better than they had all week, so decided to try my luck then. During the day I was just at home, did a bit of packing, had the family around and then made my way through to the airport with the folks in the evening. The woman at the check in counter said the flight looked promising, but had to wait until flight closing before I'd know. So again we waited... and this time I got on. So a quick check in of the bags, said my (teary) farewell and off to board the flight to London.

I arrived yesterday morning at around 8am, then headed home to chill out and unpack. I decided to pop down to the new house (which we had keys to) to check it out now that it had been fully painted and renovated, as well as drop a bag down there too. After popping in and a quick look around, I headed off east to lunch and a beer with Uns at the Amersham Arms, which as I've mentioned before, do a fantastic Sunday roast. Never great to leave Joburg after a fantastic holiday, but it is also good to come back home, and at least it was on a Sunday and didn't have the hassle of going straight to work :)
